The properties of a visualisation element are edited in this mask.

1.Tab for the current object

Some fields exist in all elements and other fields are element-specific.

1.1.All elements

Designation

The element within the visualisation page is identified under this term. This term is displayed in the drop-down box Go to at the top left on the visualisation page and should be meaningful. This enables an element to be easily identified in extensive projects.

Action

During operation, right-clicking on the element performs one of the following actions.
A tab for specific input fields is additionally displayed for each action.
  • None: the element is only displayed
  • Call page: this calls a visualisation page.
  • Universal timer
  • Value entry
  • Public holiday calendar
  • Holiday calendar
  • Buddy list
  • Set date/time

X/Y position (pixels)

Position of the element on the visualisation page. The position refers to the top left-hand corner of the visualisation area.
Note
The specification of the positioning and size of the respective element is optional, it can also be positioned with the mouse button and the size changed in the usual manner.

Width/height (pixels)

The width and height of the element is entered here. Symbols and graphs are expanded or compressed to these dimensions.

1.2.Element: Box

A box is a rectangle. Three different states can be set.

Stat. box

Static colour. A colour tone is assigned via the colour selection with the button on the right.

Transparent

Transparent. This box can be laid "invisibly" on the background. A possible application consists in placing this box over a button comprising several graphical elements and using it as a button to initiate an action with every mouse click.

Dyn. box

Dynamic colour. The colour of the box depends on a dynamic box and a communication object.

1.3.Element: Camera

Camera

A camera can be assigned here.

1.4.Element: Symbol

A static or dynamic symbol can be assigned here.

Stat. symbol

The symbol assigned here is displayed independently of a communication object.
  1. Selection of a symbol already existing in the project
The left of the two selection buttons can be used to make an assignment from all the available symbols.
  2. Selection of a not yet existing symbol in the project
A direct assignment from the file system is possible via the right of the two selection buttons.
After the selection button has been clicked, a Standard Windows file dialogue opens, via which a graphic file of the type ".jpg", ".jpeg", ".png" or ".gif" can be selected. For this graphic file, a hash code is generated in the project which is unique for this file. A check is performed in the background to check whether this hash code already exists. If so, this graphic symbol already exists in the project and the already existing symbol is used. If not, the graphics file is automatically imported into the project in the background and an image ID is generated and assigned. The file name of the selected graphics file is used as the designation of the symbol (without path).
Note
If the original of the graphics file is changed, nothing will change in the project as the file was imported into the project on the first use and the imported copy is used further from this time onwards!

Dyn. symbol

The symbol assigned here is displayed dependent of a communication object.
You can make an assignment from all available dyn. symbols using the selection button on the right.
Note
When the symbols for the dynamic symbol are selected, both of the options described under the point Stat. symbol are available again.

Apply size

When a symbol is created, any rectangle can be drawn using the mouse pointer.
Apply size is used to compress and/or expand a symbol to this rectangle.
YesThe symbol is displayed in the original size.
NoThe symbol is displayed in the selected size.
