The Global Library is for exchanging project data with other projects. The following elements can be saved in a Global Library:
From Version 2.4:
If new elements are added to the Global Library, an overview of all elements already contained there is displayed (incl. the one that has just been added).
Note
Global Library files have the file ending .hslib. When saving and importing, the standard directory for HS/FS Expert data is recommended (if it has not been changed by the user: "My documents\HS+FS expert). It is recommended to store the ".hslib" files.
1.Procedure
In order to export elements, the following approach is recommended:
- An element can always be copied in the Global Library via the context menu of the right mouse button (Library\Copy in Global Library).
- If all the desired data is in the Global Library, they can be exported in the main window via the menu Global Library\Export or Global Library\Clipboard\Copy. Additional information can be found in Export.
Note
The data in the Global Library is deleted when the project is exited. For this reason, when leaving the project, a message asks you to save the library if it still contains data.
2.Export
Displays the contents of the Global Library and enables the export.

4.Clipboard
The clipboard functions in exactly the same way as the import/export of the Global Library from or into a file. The difference is that the "Save file" or "Open file" dialogue does not appear. For this reason, there is only one clipboard, while, in contrast, you can create as many ".hslib" files as you like (only limited by disk space). If a Global Library was copied to the clipboard, the clipboard is automatically overwritten with the new data during the next "Copy to the clipboard" process.
Application example: You open two different projects at the same time. In project 1, you copy several items into the Global Library and then copy them to the clipboard. Now change to project 2. You can now add the data copied to the other project via "Global Library ->Clipboard ->".

Note
In contrast to the Global Library itself, the contents of the clipboard are retained until you copy a Global Library to the clipboard again. This deletes the previous contents of the clipboard. Even after closing Expert and exiting and restarting Windows, the contents of the clipboard are still available when you work with Expert again. For this reason, in contrast to the Global Library, there is no warning message when exiting the project if the clipboard is not empty.
4.2.Insert
Import a Global Library from the clipboard into the current project.
