Global Library - Import with placeholder objects
Contents
Enables importing of global libraries using placeholder objects without all actually required objects being present in the project.

1.Project settings

Under "Other/Global Library" you can save a key in the project settings, which is to serve as a marking for the placeholder objects.
The default setting is "[@GLOB]" (without the quotation marks).
Important: Observe the use of uppercase and lowercase characters!

2.Placeholder objects

Create placeholder objects in your project with a name which contains the key saved in the project settings. Here it is irrelevant whether the key is located at the beginning, in the middle or at the end of the name of the placeholder object.

Examples of functioning names of placeholder objects when using "[@GLOB]" : "dummy cam1 [@GLOB]", "test k-[@GLOB] object", "[@GLOB]_sequence 1"
Examples of non-functioning names of placeholder objects with using "[@GLOB]": "dummy cam1 [@glob]", "test k-@GLOB object", "[@Glob]_sequence 1"

Note: For communication objects, it is assumed that a placeholder object of the same data type as the one to be imported exists.

Recommendation: Create a placeholder object of every object type (scene, sequence, camera, etc.) and of every communication object data type (logical, text, etc.).

3.Global Library/Import/References

Below the list in which you must assign existing objects to the references to be imported, you will find the option "Automatically assign references not assigned". The key currently saved in the project settings is shown in brackets.

Activate this option if you want to import data without having already created all necessary objects in your project!

During importing, each reference for which no object exists is then assigned a suitable placeholder object and you can carry out the import.
